Environment Policy

Pågen manufactures and markets bakery products with a quality that should meet the demands and expectations of our customers and consumers both in the Nordic and other European markets.

We strive to ensure the very highest standards of safety and health for our consumers.

Our ambition is to use nature’s resources as sparingly as possible in all aspects of our business and to reduce any negative impact on the environment as far as is economically reasonable.

We continuously monitor what is happening in the transport industry with an eye to finding better environmental alternatives. When making a new purchase we always upgrade to a more eco-friendly product.

Our Environment Policy comprises the following points:

• In our production process we strive to minimise consumption of energy and water, reduce waste and cut any polluting air and water emissions as far as possible. Rest products are either recycled or given to animals as feed, used for energy production or disposed of in an environmentally correct way.

• We conduct an open dialogue with the relevant authorities to fulfil or, if possible, exceed the standards set by current environmental laws. It is our task to work both with our own organisation and with suppliers, sub-contractors, customers, trade organisations and other interested parties to achieve the objectives of our environment policy.

• It is in the company’s interest to ensure that our working environment is of a high standard.

• We offer training and information about environmental issues to all our staff. We encourage them to find ways of protecting the environment and we stress that each employee bears a responsibility for maintaining a clean environment.

• We take a broad approach to environmental issues, as we believe that helping to improve the environment is crucial to the successful long-term development of the company.
